Here are some steps that you can take to remedy the issue:
- Contact your park supervisor. Follow this link and search for your park. Click on your park and you will find the park supervisor’s contact information in the information at the top of the webpage: Find your park supervisor
- If you are making a park maintenance request, you are able to ask your park supervisor for a work order number.
- Please keep in mind:
- Work orders are prioritized into three categories, and therefore it takes 7 days, 3 months or 6 months to complete a work order depending on the request.
- Some work orders start as capital requests and will not immediately fall under the 7 day, 3 month or 6 month categories, e.g. cracked basketball. Once the capital improvement funding has been identified, then a work order is created for the repair.
- The Chicago Park District is in the process of changing their work order technology. They are taking steps that will make the process more clear, transparent and helpful in the coming years for both CPD staff and park users.
- If that does not help to resolve your park issue and you would like to further pursue your complaint, please utilize any and all of these resources concurrently:
- Contact your area or region manager. Each park falls within an “area” and “region” within the Chicago Park District system. Contact your park’s regional office to find out the contact information for your Park Area Manager: Find your regional office contact information

- File a formal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) Complaint: ADA Complaint Report (The report document and guidelines are towards the bottom of the webpage)
- File a formal report of misconduct, resource misallocation, contract fraud, or criminal activity by park employees: Submit a Report (Please read the Office of the Inspector General website and scroll down to “Submit a Report” to fill out the necessary documentation / information)
