Site Captain Resources
Dear site captains, thank you for volunteering to lead a clean up in your community.
Site Captains are the backbones of our Earth Day Celebration! Friends of the Parks is here to support you along the way.
- This is the official guide in Google doc and pdf forms for all site captains to help you plan your clean up event smoothly.
- Click here for editable flyer in .doc form. If you need to change the time of your event, use this version. Flyers should include park name, contact info, meet up spot, event time (if not 9-noon), registration link, and any other event details. You can also create a QR code for your registration link and use it instead of the general Earth Day website QR included on .doc version of the flyer. Here are different file formats for the template (where the box is left blank for you to add information about your park): pdf, and Google (make a copy of the file).
- The Chicago Park District requires volunteers to sign a waiver. You can download copies for signing on the day of the event (click here) but we encourage signing online before the event: https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/2024-volunteer-waiver-release
- Volunteer sign-in form. Google and pdf
