2022 COMMEMORATION and wreath Laying ceremony
“The Promise”
The 2022 commemoration included a special acknowledgment of Mayor Harold Washington's vision to develop a park honoring Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable's legacy in 1987. The park's location is to be at the confluence of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
The DuSable Park Coalition continues its commitment to advocate, build awareness, and honor inclusionary practices for developing DuSable Park. The creation of DuSable Park is "The Promise” that needs to be fulfilled by The Chicago Park District. #Thepromise1987
