Reflections on Olmsted’s legacy and its application to Chicago. - Signature Award Presentation: The Washington Park Camera Club will receive the “Olmsted Award”
After sharing their digital exhibit, “South Park Then and Now,” representatives discussed it within the frame of Olmsted and parks as democratic spaces and engaged in Q & A with the audience.

Heartfelt reflections about the challenges of combatting the unpermitted building project undertaken in a non-democratic process by the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture in historic Humboldt Park, despite her personal history of support for the museum’s agenda and many personal, professional, and political relationships with key museum leaders, A former local aldermanic candidate herself, she will call for candidates in the 26th Ward aldermanic race to answer questions about their role in the debacle and how they would lead to remedy this situation. - Panel Presentation: Parktivists working to ensure more democratic processes and products for healthy and equitable parks and their surrounding communities
- Amy Lardner, Chicago History Museum’s expansion and its impact on protected herons
- Alfredo Romo, Neighbors for Environmental Justice’s environmental justice campaign against MAT Asphalt regarding McKinley Park and the Damen silos.
