Build-a-Park Program

Friends of the Parks Build-a-Park program unites communities, city officials and the Chicago Park District to create new parks in Chicago. One park under development now is Harold Washington Playground, located at 7710 N. Paulina. Friends of the Parks has been working with this community for almost 10 years to increase park space.  The results of our work include the Gale School Campus, Triangle Park and the soon to be renovated Harold Washington Playground. The playground was recently acquired by the Chicago Park District, and will be rebuilt, with the help of the community in early summer of 2005.

If you have ideas about parks or other plots of land that need assistance in becoming welcoming green spaces for your community, contact John Paul Jones at 312-857-2757 x15 or Jonesjp@FOTP.ORG.
